The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl

There is a widely circulated love story in China about a cowherd falling in love with a weaver girl. They were stopped by the Queen of the Heavens but nothing could stop them from loving each other. This story is also the origin of the "Chinese Valentine's Day".

牛郎和织女的爱情故事,在中国广为传颂。他们的爱情遭到天后的阻挠,但是没有什么能够阻挡他们之间的爱情。这个故事也是中国情人节的起源。

Literal meaning: The cowherd and the weaver girl

Eg.

这对情侣在不同的国家工作,像牛郎织女一样,每年只能见上一面。

zhè duì qíng lǚ zài bú tóng de guó jiā gōng zuò ,xiàng niú láng zhī nǚ yī yàng ,měi nián zhī néng jiàn shàng yī miàn 。

This couple works in different countries, and their experience is similar to the plot of the love story "The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl" as they could meet each other only once each year.
