About MandarinAi

MandarinAi is a project launched by Alan Hou, who created one of the largest Chinese learning group(Learn Chinese) on Facebook.com. Over a decade of development, many excellent Chinese teachers and learners shared tons of valuable posts, videos and comments. We now(9/26/2024) have over 590,000 members in this group. 

The whole idea is to gradually include quality courses and related materials for Chinese learners of various levels, and form a community where we can credit those who contributed a lot in the group and beyond(it's a pity that many chose a different career for different reasons). Also there are many individual tutors, Mandarin focused institutes or organizations, as well universities dedicate in teaching Chinese language and cultures, there should be an objective rating system to help students sort them out. However, just like rome was not built in one day, it's likely the development would take more than 6 months.

The initial stage of this project would be web-based. In the meanwhile, Android & iOS apps will be developed based on the website. However, apps won't be released before the features on our website become stable.

Why the name MandarinAi?

To be honest, most of the the domain that comes to mind was not available, and AI(Artifial Intelligenct) is certainly a hype since the last couple of years. And ài(爱) also means "love" in Chinese, so MandarinAi.com became our domain.

Some individuals inquired about the languages we support. While our primary language is English due to its universality, I have personally included some explanations in Spanish. This addition is a gesture of special appreciation to Victor Manuel Sanchez Ostos, who currently resides in Tampico, Mexico. He generously taught me Spanish at no cost and extended invitations to dinners and movies during his time in Beijing.
